We are pleased to announce and welcome the new NVERS Program Director, Walt Kaplan.  Walt’s official start date will be September 14, 2015.

We are pleased to announce NVERS' IRS 1023 application for 501(c)3 status was approved by the IRS (April 2015).  Based on guidance from the IRS and the experience of our advisors, we were prepared for this process to take up to 2 years and consist of multiple back-and-forth question/answer sessions with the IRS.  Apparently, the application was detailed and clear enough the IRS was able to approve it in 47 days.  This is the fastest approval turn-around anyone we have spoken with has ever heard of.

Tuesday night's fatal derailment was the worst Philadelphia train disaster in decades. The timing seemed chillingly prophetic: Just one day before the crash, the city's Office of Emergency Management had held a "mass casualty workshop" with police, fire and health personnel.
