NVERS Workspace Sharepoint FAQs

1. What is the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint?

The NVERS Workspace Sharepoint serves as a collaboration tool that provides central storage and space for NOVA documents, files, and information. The NVERS Workspace features committee, working group, and special program folders; it is currently storing documents from 2020. Moving forward, the site will be leveraged as the primary document sharing platform for NVERS stakeholders; however, the NVERS.org Document Repository will be maintained in perpetuity for archival purposes. The new site affords users a more collaborative platform to share and/or contribute to regional documents.

2. Who has access to the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint?

Only authorized NVERS users and jurisdictional partners will be given access to the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint. As of April 2020, the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint was integrated with the Identity and Access Management Service (IAMS), which has been implemented across the National Capital Region (NCR). IAMS allows authorized users to login to participating regional applications, such as the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint, by utilizing their organizational login credentials.

3. What level of access do users have?

By default, users will have "read only" access to the folders. Committees and/or working groups that traditionally have leveraged NVERS document storage platforms for manual updates, etc. may have additional permissions (i.e., the ability to edit, upload, or delete files).

4. How do I register for the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint through IAMS?

Users who have previously registered for the NVERS website through IAMS may log in to the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint using their Microsoft Office credentials. In most cases, a user's Microsoft Office and jurisdictional login credentials are the same.

Users who have not registered for NVERS website access through IAMS may complete this process on the IAMS Get Access site. A step-by-step guide may be found here. After you have requested access to the NVERS website through IAMS, an NVERS team member will review your request in 1-3 business days. You will receive an email notification once your account has been approved, and you will then be able to log in to the NVERS Workspace using your Microsoft credentials. In most cases, a user's Microsoft Office and jurisdictional login credentials are the same.

5. How do I use the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint?

  • Once credentialed through IAMS for the NVERS website, from the homepage, click the "NVERS Workspace Sharepoint" link within the "Resources" menu. You may be prompted to log in using your Microsoft Office account. When you log in to the NVERS Workspace Sharepoint, you will find a list of committee and project folders under the "Documents" heading.

  • After you locate the folder you are seeking for a project or committee, click into the folder to access sub-directories and files.

  • The files in each folder are listed in alphabetical order by default. Click the file to open it, or click the dotted menu icon to access other file options.
