NVERS Regional Hospital Incident Command System Overview Course

Build a strong foundational understanding of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) during this 4-hour course for healthcare facility leaders and managers. Designed to establish a common baseline understanding, this training prepares participants to effectively assume leadership and incident command roles when emergency operations are activated at their facility.

Participants will gain practical knowledge of incident command structure, key leadership positions, and essential coordination processes needed to manage healthcare emergencies. The course provides a shared operational framework that individual facilities and health systems can build upon to support their own policies, procedures, and incident-specific workflows.

This course is ideal for hospital administrators, department managers, and other staff assigned to incident command or emergency operations center roles who need an introduction or refresher on HICS fundamentals. The training is intended to supplement, not replace, formal ICS certification courses and facility-specific training. Participants are strongly encouraged to complete FEMA ICS courses and their facility's incident command training programs.
