DESCRIPTION:NVERS Regional Hospital Incident Command System Overview CourseBuild a strong, practical understanding of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) during this expanded 6-hour course designed for healthcare facility leaders and managers. The training will include a foundational overview to establish a common baseline understanding and focused, position-specific instruction that prepares participants to step confidently into individual incident command roles.Participants will gain practical knowledge of incident command structure, key leadership positions, and essential coordination processes needed to manage healthcare emergencies. This shared operational framework gives individual facilities and health systems a foundation to build upon with their own policies, procedures, and incident-specific workflows.Participants will gain additional hands-on familiarity with the responsibilities, job action sheets, and decision points tied to specific HICS roles. This deeper dive prepares participants not just to understand the incident command structure, but to function effectively within it during an activation. This course is ideal for hospital administrators, department managers, and other staff assigned to incident command or emergency operations center roles who want both a foundational understanding of HICS and more targeted preparation for specific command positions. The training is intended to supplement, not replace, formal ICS certification courses and facility-specific training. Participants are strongly encouraged to complete FEMA ICS courses and their facility's incident command training programs.Course location and additional details will be shared once your registration is confirmed.
