DESCRIPTION:We exist to serve, and we serve as members of teams. Our teams have leaders. The cadence to which the team performs is primarily due to the leaders' expectations set forth preemptively. Leaders must motivate, be 'in the fight,' and look to improve the well-being of the team to best carry out the mission. Let’sdelve into leadership, from mindset to motivation, tactics to training. A journey of lessons learned from our successes and failures in the firehouse and on the fireground.Keynote Speaker: Captain Douglas J. Mitchell, JR (FDNY). Doug has 32 years of fire experience, the last 26 with the FDNY. He has keynoted, lectured, and instructed fire service programs nationwide. He’s a principal member of NFPA 1400. He’s assisted in writing FDNY tactical bulletins, penned fire service magazine articles and co-wrote Fire Engineering’s “25 to Survive: Reducing Residential Injury”.
